Tim Arnold - Multi-Disciplinary Artist | Advocate for Digital Mindfulness | Professional
Speaker.
Nationally acclaimed artist of 26 solo albums and winner of BBC Album of The
Year, singer, songwriter, performance artist, film-maker, composer and social
activist is bringing his latest project Super Connected to schools.
Hailed by critics, educators and health professionals, Super Connected is a
powerful and inspiring exploration of the smartphone and digital dependency
debate.
Mixed-race and autistic, Arnold was raised by his mother and her same-sex
partner amidst a working-class theatrical community. Embracing his LGBTQIA+
heritage, he actively campaigns for inclusivity and diversity through his music.
Most recently, he is focused on building a compassionate approach to those
suffering with screen dependency, through talks, workshops, music and film.
Tim also lectures on the Live Performance and Songwriting team at WaterBear
College of Music, sits on the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee of
the Musicians’ Union, and is an Ambassador for Neurodiversity at The Creative
Well.
Born into a working-class theatrical family, Tim grew up surrounded by the
bohemian spirit of London's creative underground.
His mixed-race and neurodivergent identity imbued his early experiences with a
deep sense of curiosity and resilience, as he began writing songs at the age of
11. At 19, Tim was signed to Sony Music as the frontman of 1990s British art
rock band Jocasta. His path has been anything but conventional, shaped by
collaborations with mentors like Lindsay Kemp (who also guided David Bowie and
Kate Bush) and the radical decision to leave major label fame behind to pursue
a fiercely independent career of 26 albums and two feature films.
Super Connected
Tim’s Super Connected project is a testament to his distinctive creative vision
and relentless drive. What began as his most recent album has evolved into a
feature film, theatre show and ongoing initiative to raise awareness about
screen addiction.
