as a teacher in 2005 and worked across the Primary sector until 2011, when he
set up Silverscreen Primary Education. Prior to becoming a teacher, Adam had spent ten years working as an actor and director in theatre, TV and film aroundthe world.
His company, Silverscreen, was created to use film, drama techniques and emerging film-making apps to engage and energise children in their own literacy, history and geography studies, as well as building their self-confidence and self-esteem. Now working with over 150 schools in the UK and internationally, Silverscreen has been integrated into many schools SIPs and the teachers own CPD.
In partnership with several of the UK's leading independent cinemas, Adam is able to bring the school curriculum to life in a memorable, dynamic, exciting and educational way, using the language of the classroom, along with clear objectives and success criteria, to ensure that the children know what they are learning and why.
Using his experience as an actor to 'perform' and present for his audience,
Adam uses carefully chosen film clips, imagery, music, texts and self-made
movies to progress the children at pace through an exciting learning adventure.
His close partnerships with schools, and their teachers and pupils, allows Adam to tailor these events to the specific audience in front of him.
From the dawn of the Stone Age to life in space, from the wilds of the Kenyan Savannah to the wreck of the Titanic, from chocolate factories to Narnia and beyond, a day with Adam is a learning journey which appeals to all learning styles and needs.
Working with Adam is a chance to learn new ways to access and experience the world around you, its past and its future, putting you front and centre in that journey and allowing you to confidently, and with excitement, to plan your own next steps.
