Vital Stats: BSc University of Bristol
Career Background: At university she applied for 83 jobs and joined the Graduate Scheme working for beauty giant L'Oreal. She spent eight years climbing the career ladder working in Marketing, Sales and Retail for companies L'Oreal, Colgate and Superdrug before in 2008 she applied to participate in the hit TV BBC1 series 'The Apprentice'. She reached the final, watched by over 11 million viewers. Lord Sugar dubbed her a 'Rottweiler' for her tenacious approach and mindset of never giving up!
Since then she has gone onto launch www.schoolspeakers.co.uk which helps to inspire, motivate and educate young people.
She is passionate about promoting entrepreneurship and enterprise to our younger generation. Claire has been nominated for the Queen's Enterprise Award and is honoured to represent the UK in The European Network of Female Entrepreneurship Ambassadors. She is Honorary President of Young Chamber UK (www.youngchamber.com ) and an Ambassador for The Entrepreneurial Education Group is in partnership with OCR (Oxford & Cambridge Exam Board).
Claire is an active mentor and is involved in Ecadets, a scheme helping the next generation of ESafety in schools https://www.ecadet.zone/the-team/.
Claire works in London most weeks consulting on projects for the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and Department for Education on enterprise education, SME growth, Women’s agenda (equal pay and increasing the numbers of women into STEM & business). She is a brilliant role model for teenage girls and young women.
Claire is Ambassador, and co-founder, of social enterprise www.girlsoutloud.org.uk and enjoys working with female students. Her aim is to raise their aspirations and make them think big! Girls can achieve anything which they put their mind to.
