Reema Jethwa

Reema Jethwa

Fun, story-led online safety talks that get children excited about staying safe online.

Reema Jethwa is a children's author and cyber security professional on a mission to help the next generation build a happy, healthy relationship with the online world. She is the author of the Get Cyber Safe picture book series, which follows two young characters as they learn to stay safe online, and she is currently writing a graphic novel on the same theme for older children under a publishing deal.

With over 13 years' experience in cyber security, Reema brings something rare to the classroom: she is a genuine expert in the subject she writes and speaks about. By day she works in human risk and digital safety, and by night and at weekends she writes stories that turn important online safety messages into something children actually enjoy. This combination means her talks are both credible and brilliantly age-appropriate, grounded in real professional knowledge but delivered in warm, simple language that young pupils understand and remember.

Reema's sessions bring online safety to life through storytelling. Drawing on her books and her own characters, she covers the topics that matter most to families today, including passwords, sharing photos, talking to strangers online, screen time, cyberbullying and artificial intelligence. Every session is fun, interactive and pitched at the right level for the age group, helping children feel confident and empowered rather than frightened.
Her talks can be shaped to suit each school, whether that is a lively author talk, an interactive assembly, or a hands-on workshop for a smaller group. She also offers optional sessions for parents and staff, so the whole school community can feel supported in keeping children safe online.

As a parent herself, Reema understands the worries families face in a world of screens, apps and constant connection. Her goal is simple: to start these important conversations early, in a way that sticks, so children can grow up enjoying the online world safely.

Testimonials from Teachers

"Reema was very engaging speaker delivering her workshops and presentation to a group of Year 6s from one of our local schools. We invited her as a speaker for World book Day and she talked about her books, the importance of Online Safety and preventing Identity Theft. It was also very interesting to hear about her future writing projects. I highly recommend her as a guest speaker to children and for her enthusiastic delivery of her presentation."

– Magnolia Rose, Community Librarian, St Ann’s Library

"The Cyber Awareness Month session delivered by you on 24th October 2024 at Hornsey Library was engaging, informative, and well-tailored to the audience which consisted of Year 2 and Year 3 classes from a local school. The presentation helped the children develop a better understanding of how to stay safe online. Participants were highly engaged throughout the session, and the feedback received from the school was very positive. We greatly appreciated your knowledge and expertise, as well as your ability to communicate complex topics in a clear and accessible way for young people."

– Renata Chivers, Community Librarian, Hornsey Library, Haringey Libraries

"The school we invited to the workshop thoroughly enjoyed the session and remained engaged throughout. They particularly loved the Q&A, which generated lots of interest and discussion. The workshop provided valuable insights for the children on how to stay safe online."
