Stefan heads the S.A.L.T. (Save a Life Today) initiative; a proactive campaign aimed at addressing the growing threat of knife crime in the UK, particularly amongst young people. Through educational workshops, training and open community events, S.A.L.T. offers lifesaving skills such as, emergency first aid to deal with catastrophic bleeding, situational awareness and conflict management, whilst promoting awareness and actionable intervention strategies to protect young lives.
Stefan’s diverse background enriches his community work. Raised working alongside his father in construction and landscaping, Stefan developed a robust work ethic and strong foundation in discipline and perseverance. As a young person, he was an accomplished athlete playing rugby to county level in England. In later life, Stefan competed in Strongman events, including ranking 26th at the 2011 European CrossFit Games, and spent four years in Thailand coaching individuals towards their health and fitness goals, with bespoke training and performance programs.
The diversity in Stefan’s life doesn’t stop there. As a former Royal Marine, his military experience included tours in Iraq (Op Telic) and Afghanistan (Op Jacana), and after leaving the military, Stefan utilised his military skills in the private security sector for ten years, across the Middle East, including the countries he previously toured as a Royal Marine.
Stefan developed a diverse skill set, which he took with him, to several projects in Southern Iraq undertaking the role of Project Security Manager, managing and overseeing large-scale operations including, logistics, finance, rosters, vehicle maintenance and staffing to include a mixture of local nationals and expatriates. From here, Stefan expanded his skill set by stepping into Maritime Security, which included the protection of large shipping vessels from attacks of piracy.
Stefan champions social impact initiatives, using his broad life experiences to inspire, educate, and uplift the next generation.
And something many people don’t know about Stefan is that he also enjoyed a stint as a male model, appearing on several book covers! While this might seem like a glamorous side note, it also gave him first-hand insight into the pressures men face to fit narrow ideals of masculinity, to look a certain way, act a certain way, and hide vulnerability. Today, Stefan draws on that experience to challenge harmful male stereotypes and open up honest conversations with young people about self-worth, identity, and the freedom to define masculinity on their own terms.
