Ricky Nuttall

An Incredible story of Bravery, Tragedy, Failure, Recovery and Success. You will be gripped.

Ricky is an award nominated screenwriter and published poet. After a traumatic childhood he joined the London Fire Brigade, where he has served for 18 years.

On the 14th June 2017, he worked alongside countless emergency service colleagues at the Grenfell Tower fire that killed 72 people. As a result of the life-changing decisions he made that night, Ricky began a downwards spiral into depression, PTSD and drug and alcohol misuse.

5 years later Ricky is a mental health advocate and public speaker, focusing on raising awareness on the importance of social and workplace mental health and well-being.

Ricky has been booked to speak for a range of different audiences from government organisations, including the CAA, emergency services and HM Prisons, to billion pound corporate companies.

Ricky has also taken his talks to multiple schools, adding the dangers of vaping to his repertoire as an extension of addiction and substance abuse.

He has appeared on multiple podcasts around the world, SAS Who Dares Wins, BBC Breakfast, This Morning, Man Utd TV and various national and local radio stations. He has also enjoyed success on social media, going viral on a podcast recording which has amassed over 250 million views worldwide across all major platforms.

Testimonials from Teachers

Ricky was a guest speaker at our ‘Time to Talk Day’. His talk and Q&A was exceptional, he communicated harrowing and deeply personal experiences in such an authentic and accessible way. No subject is off-limits, he puts the audience at ease and masterfully makes talking about such a stigmatised subject matter feel normal. I really can’t recommend Ricky highly enough. If your workplace takes mental health seriously then talking about it is crucial and inviting Ricky in to encourage that dialogue could make a real difference.
