Play, creativity and fun are three words to describe Steve's approach to teaching. In his career, he has been a teacher, a head of department, a senior leader, a school advisor and worked on a national educational programme.
While working for the Open University, on a school-focused programme, Steve formed links between creative media companies and schools. These companies wanted students with well-developed maths and creative skills, but were not getting the message to the schools. The schools were preparing the students for work, but not knowing the latest requirements of the companies. So, how could we bring them together? Steve liaised between the creative media companies and schools to share knowledge. He is able to share this with your students in school, to inspire and challenge them to think about their talents. Now, he uses video games in lessons to engage children in learning about creativity. He uses the structure of games to link to the challenges of life.
As an Apple Distinguished Educator and as a Google Certified Teacher, Steve has great experience working in schools wanting to move forwards to create more collaborative and globally focused environments. With the ever-changing world of new technologies, he can enable a school to create a vision of how technology will be used effectively in learning.
