Ross McWilliam has been speaking and ‘edutaining’ audiences on mindsets for over 30 years. He has worked in over 1,000 schools with both staff and pupils, and has probably changed the lives of one million people.
Ross then branched out into the corporate world of professional football as a Commercial Manager and matchday host at Preston North End FC. It was in this role that he blended his educational experience with corporate entertainment and really connected with his audiences. This can be seen when he catches a raw egg on the back of his neck to demonstrate belief, confidence and sometimes resilience, when the egg cracks!
Ross has developed a niche in ‘Developing Positive Mental Health Mindsets’ where, as an accredited Mental Health First Aid Trainer, he talks about mental health awareness, barriers to health, and strategies to unlock health and promote healing. He delivers to both pupils and staff. As part of his expertise, Ross has created a best-selling book for pupils based on mindful mental health which features a series of mini strategy videos. These resources have been called revolutionary by many senior educational leaders.
Ross is also a prolific mindsets author having published four books aimed at ages 8-12.
He is a regular speaker on the educational keynote speaking circuit. In the last year alone, he has spoken at Institute of School Business Leaders National Conference, Ealing Borough Council SBM Conference, Gloucester Primary Heads Association and Lancashire Association of School Business Managers Conference, and spoken overseas in Bruges Belgium, Dusseldorf Germany and has a speaking tour of North America in September 2019.
Ross has written for Headteacher Update, SecEd, Times Educational Supplement and Primary Times.
