Leonie Hodge

Up-skill your pupils to be clear on sexual consent, sexting and healthy relationships to promote positive gender relations.

Leonie Hodge founded TeenBoundariesUK in 2008 (now Positive Boundaries part of FamilyLives) to prevent sexual bullying, and promote positive gender relationships.

Leonie has delivered directly to 3500 teenagers 11-18, in both state and public schools across the UK. She first highlighted Sexting as an issue to young people on the BBC Breakfast show in 2009. Leonie's session plan on Sexting was lauded as a groundbreaking resource for teachers and students.

TeenBoundaries received funding in 2015 to design an App for mobile phones to provide direct support to pupils from Esmee Faibarn. She gained funding and delivered a Comic Relief funded programme, to young males at risk of being expelled from schools for sexual misconduct.

Leonie wrote a transitional project for Primary school children and their families, to support the process of moving into secondary schools. Up-skilling them to navigate through early sexualisation, popularity and healthy relationships - funded for 3 years by the Big Lottery. Leonie devised a session plan on Pornography which was filmed by BBC Radio1's NewsBeat. Her passion for prevention through education ensures the maximum energy is given in every training, talk or presentation.

Leonie's talks can cover the following topics:

  • Sexting and cyberbullying - individual roles in stopping this
  • Girls and bullying
  • What is being a man in today's world?
  • Understanding consent
  • From Snapchat to Instagram - the fun side to the risks?
  • What is sexualized bullying?
  • Being in a healthy relationship - how do you know?
  • Popularity – what does it mean?
  • Sexual Exploitation - what is it and how we can help stop it in our communities?
  • How can the media representation of Women/Men make you feel about yourself as you grow up?

Testimonials from Teachers

"It went really well thank you!"

– Ms K Lindsell, Head of Sixth Form Study Support, Millfield School

"The sessions went down really well at school – the resources she used were engaging and she spoke openly providing the students with a warm and friendly environment. The feedback from staff and students alike was positive. It was very interesting as some of the students were overheard talking about the things that they didn’t realise following on from some of the content covered. Overall it was a good session."

– Georgette Mathews, Director of Sixth Form & Leadership Centre, St Mary's Church of England High School

"The feedback was really positive from both students and staff alike. Leonie was engaging, very informative and the students took a huge amount away from it so thank you!"

– Michael Joiner, Head of WIT, Cokethorpe School

They have formed a really valuable component of our PSHE programme." – Mark Buswell, Sixth Form Senior Tutor, King Edward’s School

– Glen Pettengell, Deputy Headteacher, Roundwood Park School

"Thank you as ever for delivering the training. Overall the day was good and well received. 94% rated it good or excellent."

– Jane Lakey, Managing Director, Central Conferencing Consultants

"Ms Leonie Hodge was invited to Mount Grace School on two occasions to deliver Sexual-Bullying Workshops. On the first occasion, this was to a selected group of students. On the second occasion she came into all year 9 PSHE classes. Year 9 PSHE teachers felt that the sessions were engaging, relevant and on a vitally important personal and topical issue. The students responded well to the subject matter and the content was challenging yet appropriate. Ms Hodge had an excellent rapport with the students and helped challenge myths, assumptions and stereotypes in a non- judgemental manner. We are grateful for the input of these sessions to the PSHE programme at Mount Grace and would certainly welcome Leonie back to the school in the future if these workshops were offered to the school again."

– Ms Elizabeth Toon, Head of Humanities, Mount Grace School

"Leonie was very informative and the staff enjoyed speaking with her".

– Ruth Coomber, Deputy Head Pastoral, Clifton College
