Emma Rosen is an experienced TED speaker who specializes in outside-the-box career advice and inspiration for young people who don't know what they what to do.
Emma left her corporate job to instead undertake a year-long journey to experience 25 different jobs and careers before turning 25. The project aimed - and continues to aim - to promote alternative ways of working and to encourage young people to gain more work experience in a diverse range of sectors before making major decisions.
Emma's talks provide a mix of practical advice, new ideas and entertaining anecdotes from her experiences. To name a few of the careers Emma worked in: archaeology in Transylvania, tour guiding amid violent protests in Venezuela and investigative journalism with The Telegraph, to being an extra in a movie, alpaca farming in Cornwall and assisting the British Council's crisis team during the terror attack on Parliament in March.
She has spoken about her work in schools, colleges and universities across the country, including at a widely viewed TED conference.
Emma has also written a self-help book to help other young people find their dream career. The Radical Sabbatical was published in 2019 and has been featured in The Times, BBC Breakfast, i paper, BBC Radio 4, Radio 5, Stylist magazine and Financial Times, The Telegraph, Cosmopolitan UK and Huffington Post among others.
