Designed especially for secondary school, the Funky Lunch Enterprise Challenge sets students the task of creating a fun sandwich that could be sold on a supermarket shelf.
Working in teams, pupils are tasked with identifying their target market before designing a sandwich idea that will appeal. Choosing from an ingredients list, sandwich production costs will be worked out before the team decide on a selling price to enable the calculation of their profit per unit sold.
Then the fun begins! Students go on to create their edible product and design and make their packaging and marketing material ready for the final presentations at the end of the day.
This workshop has also worked well with Year 6 students, engaging them in the business world and preparing them for secondary education.
