Carina White

The world does not define me, I define me!

Voted one of the Voice Newspaper's “One to Watch” and winner of the coveted We Are The City “Rising Star” Award in the same year, Carina White is an award winning event host, podcaster, cultural commentator and keynote speaker. Carina is also a school governor, sits on the board of BCOMS (Black Collective of Media in Sport) and is a founding member of NSPCC's Chilldline Circle.

With a background in Sports Marketing, Athlete Management and Influencer Marketing, it’s a surprise to many that she was once a qualified social worker. However, to those that know her this comes as no surprise. With a passion for diversity, effecting change and making her voice and others heard, she is a force to be reckoned with, regularly speaking out against injustices in her community and has been featured on numerous occasions across all BBC outlets, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky News discussing issues ranging from parenting, sports and her own experiences of Mental Health and grief.

Carina is also co-founder of the Black Mums Upfront podcast and community group which brings the voices of Black motherhood to the forefront and has worked with leading brands such as Nike, Dove and Barbie.

Following the death of her own mother at 17 and a subsequent suicide attempt, she talks regularly about overcoming adversity, strength and impact. Despite the challenges faced by her as a Black woman, she is standing in her truth and inspiring many along the way whilst passing the ladder down behind her.

Testimonials from Teachers

Carina delivered an inspiring talk to our students about anti-racism. The impact she had upon the students has been deep and long-lasting. She masterfully balanced personal anecdote with reflection and thought-provoking questions. The students could relate to the stories she told and were keen to learn more and ask questions. Carina was also incredibly generous with her time in speaking to individuals and inspiring them with what is possible.

– Carol Chandler-Thompson, Head, Blackheath High School GDST

Carina attended our school to deliver a talk to our Year 6 students around resilience and overcoming adversity in anticipation of their upcoming transition to secondary school. The children sat in awe as she delivered a funny, relatable yet engaging talk to the class. She spoke passionately and openly about her own personal experiences and it was an honour to have her talk to a group of inner city London children and inspire them for their future endeavours.

– Dean Gordon, Principal, Grinling Gibbons Primary School

Carina White recently spoke at our whole school annual presentation evening to parents, students and staff. She was an outstanding speaker who uses her real life experience to keep the audience entertained, motivated and inspired throughout. Her message challenged us all to take stock of our current situation and make a clear plan for progress. After her key note the audience comments included: “Truly inspirational!”, “Powerful and uplifting!”, “When will she be speaking to us again!? Outstanding! Thank you Carina for an excellent experience.
